Our NEW house!

This past weekend we moved. It had been close to 3 years since we last did a big move...meaning moving more than just clothing and light weight items. We moved the couch, solid wood coffee table, TV's, computers, clothes, groceries, toys, etc. Our strength, or at least mine, was minimal compared to a few years ago. I couldn't lift things as high, or carry them as long. The last time we moved the entire household, I worked as a CNA, so I was used to lifting people. I had muscles. Now, they have withered a little bit. All in all, we got moved into our new house that is ours.

Not only this, but we also had a brand new washer, dryer, fridge and range put in our new home. One thing we hadn't counted on installing was a new water heater. The one in the house would not stay lit, so realizing our water heater was 16 years old, we decided to get a new one. We got it home, got it installed, but kept smelling gas. Upon further inspection today, we noticed the gas valve on the heater was cracked....it was defective. So, Shaw gets to stay home tomorrow and hopefully get somebody out here to replace it so we can take real showers. Otherwise, we are destined to drive to Pawnee for showers until it is fixed.

Our neighbors are not the best. We have a hillbilly set of sisters that are in their 30's or 40's with a little girl that is 7. The mom or sister or whatever she is, yells at people coming to our house..for example the telephone man. She tells us information that is sporadic, such as "my daughter has 'ad'" (rather than ADD, or ADHD). They sit all day on their porch, even sleeping on it...yes...sleeping on their porch during the heat of the day. It is rather interesting.

Even though things havn't gone perfectly since moving in, it has, however, worked. Even in tough situations, Shaw has kept a great attitude. It's me that lost my temper a few times. But, there he was making light of a situation and it made my anger subside. We now have the fun of getting everything put together, and arranged in this house that is twice the size of what we had. This house feels like a home. :)
