The Ring Arrived

Today, my ring arrived. It's not just any ring. It's a second engagement ring. This ring is white gold, .4 carats, art deco style from 1920. It's got 3 diamonds in it. The center setting is square, however, the diamond in it is round, so it is a very unique look! Thankfully this beautiful ring fits too. Although if I lose any more weight, I'll have to get it resized.

The ring has alot of meaning. First of all, it is a symbol of our committment to one another. It's particularly meaningful because this is something that I didn't think would be possible. It symbolizes to me that loving somebody means more than keeping yourself happy. Its about making that person your with happy. It's about caring and loving them regardless of what happens.

As for wedding dates or plans...we still havn't figured out what to do. I imagine it'll probably be a spur of the moment deal someday. haha

Dieting Again, for the 100th time

The weight problem that some of you know about, just continued to get worse. 10 days ago, I finally decided to go back on Phentermine 37.5 mg in order to try and bite this nasty problem in the butt. At 198.8 and only 5'1", I know the long term affects of being this overweight can be very serious. I am at risk for type II diabetes, stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, etc. And, since I can't fit into most of my clothes, it was decided I had to take a drastic measure to jump start any weight loss.

Granted, this time around, the medication doesn't seem to work as well as 2 years ago when I lost 40 pounds, it is helping with my appetite. I didn't realize how much I had been eating! Not to mention, how lazy I had gotten. I havn't lost much, but hey, it's better than nothing. Below is my weight loss "ticker". My goal is to lose 48.8 pounds. It will track my weight loss until I meet my goal.

Below are my weight loss goals and dates:

5/17 Goal: 188

6/17 Goal: 178

7/17 Goal: 168

8/17 Goal: 158

9/10 Goal: 150

In other news, we got a new kitty cat today....named Wanda by Sari. Below is a picture.

Wedding Plans...

So Shaw and I are getting remarried sometime this summer. When we decided to get remarried, it seemed like a simple idea. What was so hard about that? However, as time has gone on, the idea of getting remarried has become more than just saying "I do". It is now a matter of what kind of ceremony do we want? The options are endless. We could fly to Las Vegas, drive to Eureka Springs, have a nice wedding nearby, or go to the courthouse.

Las Vegas, the marriage capital of the world! Couples can choose to get married in a hot air balloon, helicopter, drive through windows, chapels, and even be escorted down the aisle by Elvis. With all these options, no wonder why elopers flock to this marriage haven! However, there is the cost. While the weddings are very inexpensive in themselves, there is the need to fly out there, which adds about $500-600 for the trip. Then, of course, there's the entertainment factor and expenses. So, for about $2000 we could get remarried in Vegas. Not bad for a honeymoon, remarriage and fun weekend!

The next option is Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It's a beautiful area offering dozens of wedding chapels, bed and breakfast Victorian parlors and gardens to say "I do". The weddings can be very informal, and you can even get a tin picture taken afterwards with a sign saying "just hitched". Or, you can opt for a small service in a beautiful garden area. The choice of dressing up, or dressing down is entirely yours. Most of the places offer different packages for you as well. You can pay a flat fee and everything for a reception and wedding is included! Cake, decorations, silverware...everything. For about $1000, we could have a nice little honeymoon there, and get married at whichever place seems the best.

Another choice for getting remarried is simply going to the courthouse here in town. It would cost less than $100 and take no time to drive out at all. There would be no money wasted on special attire, or hotels. But, it just seems too drab for me.

The last option, which seems very unlikely, is having a real wedding. There is a beautiful setting by the lake called the Lake House here in Pawnee. It's a very old structure allowing for a beautiful overview of the lake. I had a friend have her commitment ceremony there are it was gorgeous. It offers for beautiful pictures and very natural lighting. This option would be great, except for the fact that nobody would show up. Some of our family and friends are happy for us, others aren't so happy about it. This option would cost somewhere between $1000-2000 depending on what dress I chose, decorations, etc. http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2827&prodgroup=10 or http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2790&prodgroup=159 However, since there wouldn't be a big turn out, it almost seems like a waste of money.

Overall, the most important thing about getting remarried is the fact that we are choosing to committ to one another again in our lives. We are promising one another that we will be together through thick and thin. We have realized that life with each other is better than without. The kind of service or location of our second wedding to one another is not important, and in fact, is quite trivial when it comes down to it. Wherever and however we choose to remarry, the day we do it will be special. It won't matter if there is family and friends around, afterall it's not their wedding. What we wore and who married us won't matter either. All that matters is that we are legally choosing to express our love towards one another.

Blogging, A New Beginning

Blogging, a new beginning.

Since things change so quickly, and I don't always have time to update everybody about everything going on, it's time I have a real blog. I'll be posting pictures, stories, updates...anything that seems appropriate. An old friend of mine has had one of these for a few years. After visiting hers recently, I decided it's time I do the same. The blog I had on myspace just was not very good.

Some may be wondering what new may be going on. There is plenty! For starters, I finished my massage therapy classes. I am now certified! Wahoo! All that is left is an externship, which I can do on my own time, rather than when I'm told to be there. The externship will allow me to get "licensed" should I ever take a job in Tulsa or OKC. Since I already work as a massage therapist for a physician, I don't have to hurry up with the externship. I plan on doing about 15-20 hours per week, while working 25-30 hours per week.

In other big news, Shaw asked me to remarry him. So, we are currently looking at rings and planning a second wedding. Since second weddings with the same person are generally not attended, we plan on doing some kind of Vegas style wedding. I will keep everyone updated on when and where.

Sari, our 4 year old daughter, is almost finished with Pre-K! One more month and her first year of school will be finished. It's hard ot believe my little girl is getting so big! She already has taken on the responsibility of caring for 2 hermit crabs and PoTo, our French Bulldog. She wants to help with everything. She also has a "boyfriend" named Jerry. He tells her she is strong because she can pick him up. Her last "boyfriend" says she is not strong when she picks him up. Sari is definately entertaining with her stories and reasons behind things.

That's all for now. I will post pictures soon!
